Running with a goal in mind

Was facing really a lot of distractions recently.. Haven really enjoyed a nice meal or a nice sleep for quite sometime alr and exams dates are getting closer and closer.. WTF man.. Despite all this, i am still proud of myself that i was able to keep the smile on me. There are so much stuff that i dunno which 1 to start with but i have decided not to procrastincate anymore.. Its time to start facing and tackling them 1 by 1 from today..

Gotta make a hard decision last nite again.. My JC classmate Sandy, once told me that once a decision has been made, stick with it and never regret. I shall now use this advice to propel myself forward. I really need to starting moving now.. My laid back and passive nature has costed me too much impt stuff already. Now all i need to do is regain my confidence and start running again.. Running with a goal in mind and not aimlessly anymore. =)

*for those who dun noe me well, thats Ben, nothing can bring him down unless he does it himself. And koping another quote from my good friend benedict, "Tough time dun last, tough man does".. Everytime i meet an upslope during running, i will always conquer it without fear, coz i know that the downslope is juz further down.

For those stressing over exams, Jia you man.. U can do it de!! =)

Introducing the new replacement for my old DS Trainer. Bought this pair of running shoes under the recommendation of alan. Since he is a staff a running lab, i managed to get the pair at staff price, which is 60% of the original price.. =) Took it for a test run a few days ago and it is really good man.. Shall start my AHM training with it soon le.. time is running out hahaha

After looking at the condition of my Asics DS Trainer, i have decided to officially retire it while it is still in 1 piece. The last time i ran using it, a piece of plastic came off.. =(

This pair of shoes is the 1st pair of running shoe that i bought. It sticked with me thru out army and lasted another 2 yrs during my uni.. with it i have ran 2 full marathon, 4 half marathons and countless of 10 & 15km runs. This pair of shoes started my running hobby and i shall continue to run in memory of it.. Thanks and good bye shoes.. =)

Watched Batman 3 weeks ago.. Due to some stuff, i was abit pissed and not in any mood for any movie that day actually. but at the end of the movie i suddenly got inspired by Batman, by the way he ignores how the citizens treat him and continue to protect the citizen silently as a dark knight.

I left the cinema enlightened. It doesn't matter how the others treat you, the most impt thing is that u urself have treat them the right way, juz like wat Batman did.. as the Dark Knight =)

Met my uni friends on sat nite in kster. That place is cool man.. Din know that we can watch soccer and sing at the same time haha.. caught the arsenal and man u matches while we were singing.

Haa.. their plot to smash me with the cake failed since the cakes were still frozen hahaha.. Drank 2 mug of beers there and ended up with a super red face.. Shucks, abit allergic to alcohol also.. so now i m spending my bday scratching myself.. =(

Had dinner with sheng yuan, yong kwang and kang di on friday nite at the Central. Went to try the Curry Udon at the Wa(dunno wat) Restaurant. Was ushered to a table which is right smack in the middle of a large grp of social escorts. Din realised that they were social escorts until we heard all of them calling an old auntie "mummy" and overhead one of them complaining saying that her client say she is fat hahaha..

Wanted to go to the sun and moon restaurant for desserts but all the tables were reserved. The 4 of us thus had hoikkaido ice cream instead. kwang ignored sy's warning that the double scoop cone ice cream melts very fast and ended up dripping his green tea and tiramisu everywhere haa..

Was quite surprised to receive a $50 river island voucher from them. was originally waiting for my $105 shirt to move to the "on sale" section. now no need le wahaha.. =)

Tennis lesson 1

after telling benedict that i wanna learn tennis from him and shengjie.. i finally got my wish on thursday haha.. kept forgeting his advice to lock my wrist when playing and ended up with a painful wrist the nxt day haha.. But i think i still sux in tennis sia and poor shengjie has to help me pick up the balls which sometimes ended 2 courts alway haha..

Ended the day having dinner @ Fish and Co with alexis, benedict and sheng jie. Had fun talking rubbish with them thru out the whole dinner hahaha..

My sis came home crying today. A malay guy snatched her handphone when she was downstairs. She was using the phone when someone tap her and snatch her hp.. My sis retailated and broke the guy's specs instead but he still managed to run way with her phone. Ran down immediately to search for the guy but couldn't find him..

Shit that guy man.. my precious sis he also dare to touch.. dun let me catch him man, or else he will realise that his specs is not the only thing that will be broken.. =(

Finally completed reading the wu xia xiao shuo written by my plt mate and good buddy brandon yew.. Bought the book from him ard 10mths ago but has been lazy to start reading it coz it is in mandarin.. However, after a sem of TCM i finally regain my love for chinese wahaha..

Personally i found his book quite creative and addictive, yep so shall give it 4/5 stars.. anyone who is interested in reading it can borrow the bk from me orh!! =)

Lost to SCBE today for the volleyball ISG.. =( Facing NIE on fri.. Saw them played against MAE today, although they lost but they still played a level alot higher compared to our team..Looks like we have to settle for no. 4 again.. sianz..

Where the fish are all the nbs volleyball players man? Why they dun want to come when we need them sia.. For the 1st game we even have to borrow the badminton team's players juz to have enuf pple.. Shucks sia.. started to regret why i nvr took my trainings seriously when i was playing in the lower sec.. My skills are too limited to help the team now.. The feeling of losing is not nice.. definitely not nice.. =(

Yeah!! finally got Witch yoo hee's soundtracks liao.. pester poor brandon till he decided to delay his sleeping time by another 1/2hr to send me the songs haah..

Won the 1st 2 matches of the ISG volleyball and are meeting SCBE in the semifinals.. Damn afraid that history will repeat for my ISG games again.. 2 wks ago for capt ball, we thrashed the 1st 2 teams to proceed to the semifinals but ended up No.4 after losing the nxt 2 match..

Was researching on the net to find ways to improve my volleyball skills.. Been giving away too many pts because of my inconsistant serving.. haah, shall give in my best tml so that we will be fighting for the 1st 2 placing instead of the 3rd 4th placing.. Guess the crucial word for tml shall be the word "believe" man.. Believe in the team and believe in yourself.. =)

Managed to complete the marathon under 5hr but i felt that my timing could have been a lot better.. my mental strength is not as powerful as last time alr.. Started to walk quite abit after the 32km mark and ended the marathon surprisingly w/o any cramps..

Haiz.. Was stepped on the toes after the run.. (one on the left, the other incident on the right haha).. Amin, my runners' club friend therefore joked that it is my punishment for not putting in 101% effort to complete the race.. Saw so many pretty girls during the run, now i m so tempted to not to retire from marathon nxt yr liao wahaha.. =P

This morning i was screaming TCM sux coz there are so much stuffs to memorize.. But heng the exam paper was quite easy.. almost 90% of the pple finished the 100 MCQs within 1hr.. Heard someone said that for electives they do not use the bell curve system. Really hope this is true man, coz my competitors are either ah tiongs, malaysians or pple taking chinese major..

Cleared both elective liao.. time for the cores haha.. I really need a good break after the exams man.. =)

Ran 3 rounds ard NTU yest.. knee is hurting like shit now sia.. Haiz.. Age seems to be catching up with me liao.. =(

A year ago, after running one round ard ntu, i tot that it is impossible for me to go more than one round because of the upslopes.. One yr later, i ran 3 rounds.. and this sun i will be running 5 rounds with eng soon to train for the standard chartered run in Dec..

Mayb Addidas is rite afterall.. "Impossible is nothing"..

Looking forward to the run this sun.. I need some moment of reflection again.. Been taking too many wrong steps and too little right steps.. there are so many stuffs that i have neglected all this while, really shld have spent more time on them..
Dunno if i can complete the run this sun or not, hope i have enuf dreams to daydream of thruout the run haah..

The runner's spirit

Hmm.. Kev's action of running with me till the end even tho he can continue at a much faster pace made me realised something.. Running is not all abt challenging personal best timing. Kev could have left me behind to achieve a better timing for the run but he din, instead he stayed on to push me along.

Many pple thought that running is an individual thingy but for me it is more of a teamwork between one and his running buddy. Diff pple tire out at different part of the race, however, one will still push himself to keep up with his running buddy so as not to slow down the other party. The same happens when the other person starts to get tired while one regains his pace. Thats how running buddies help each other to train up as well as push each other's limits. 3 cheers to buddyhood man! haha..

Woke up at 3.40am to catch the shuttle bus to the changi exhibition centre for the New Balance Real Run.. Was supposed to stay over at kevin's hse since he stays nearer but i m juz too lazy to traval all the way to Seng kang..

I enjoyed the 1st 10km of the run esp when i m running at a place whether i can see the aeroplanes take off.. Counted a total 8 aeroplanes taking off but haiz.. din managed to catch the A380.. Its was until i reached the sand path that i experienced the 1st sign of fatigue, since it requires one to run slanted and there is tendancy losing balance. At the 13km mark, i had the option of stopping at the booth to grab a drink but i din as i tot there is no point drinking since i m reaching the end pt soon. For my stuborness. i was rewarded with a stupid stitch which slowed my speed to walking pace. I suddenly feels like i m the person dragging the parachute in the gatorade advertisement. Luckily kev was there to push me on.. If not for him, i would have stopped and started walking..

And shucks!! I was overtaken by another tall and beautiful runner again.. Din have the stamina to keep at same pace at her.. =(
I shall train harder man.. =P

Street Challenge 2007

Joined the floorball challenge for the 2nd year in the row.. This time TAN YEW KIONG has defected!! hahaha.. Heng, kev found another friend wan ying to join us.. Some how this yr's floorball is abit different from last yr. It seems more like the floorball ivps and potential ivps are using the chance to challenge one another (unlike last yr where most pple are still new to the game)while pple like me are there for supporting roles.. Banana, heng my reflexes are still there, otherwise i would have conceded a lot more liaoz.. nbz.. but i kept forgeting that floorball is alot smaller than soccer ball so i din keep my legs close enough and alot of shots enter the goal thru the gap between my legs..

haah..thru out the street challenge i see 2 potential floorball ivps (kev and wan ying), 1 hockey queen(angie) and 1 netball queen(amanda).. for me, i still got alot to learn man..

Kenna hit by the sick bug again.. Really hate getting sick man coz every time i kenna one, it will take at least 3 days to recover.. =( This time is really sucky man, fever is so high till my eyes become red and hot tears will flow out whenever i close my eyes.. This time, the fever also made me missed out my Ministerial Forum celebration, my company law assignment deadline, my acct 2 quiz and kang di's bday celebration. Now my acct 2 final paper is 70% instead of 50% le.. shit alr man..

THE DONKEY STORY

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a dry
well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the

jia lat sia.. i think my involvement in 2 CCAs are killing me liao.. Both CCAs are having major events in sept and oct respectively thus there have been quite alot of stuffs to prepare recently. Been reaching home onli after 9+pm for the past 3 days because of the CCA meetings.. Will be the same situation from nxt mon till wed also.. =( The 3 modules i m taking this sem is not helping also.. taxation is really taxing and its stupid guide book is not user friendly at all man.. Plus i m taking TCM as elective, needa 1hr+ before i can roughly figure out what the lecture notes (which are written in chinese) are talking abt.

I m feeling so no life man.. been a long time since i last watched a movie, or played soccer/basketball/badminton ; dun have time to train for running even tho i signed up for 3 running events ; was supposed to play soccer today but i fell sick due to tiring schedules for the past few days ; then have to last minute postpone one of my good friend's bday celebration nxt tues to help out in the recruitment of ushers..

Sometimes, i really juz feel like giving some fake excuses to skip the CCA activities so that i can have more time to spend with my friends whom i had neglected due to the tight schedules.. But come to think of it, i m not the only one making all the sacrifices.. there are also other committee members who are too working very hard to make the event a success.. Since i m inside the team, i feel that i shld be doing my part to make sure the event run smoothly too..

Haiz.. Guess wat i can do now is to improve on my time management liao then.. I shall work HARDER! =)

Singapore Bay Run 2007

Woke up at 3.30am in the morning to prepare for the 21km AHM run. My muscles are still aching from the 2 rounds ard NTU on fri man.. By rite i shldn't be running so much juz 2 days b4 the race but i think i still needa clock the dist. Jia lat sia, this is the 1st time i ran 21km with juz 2 trainings.. =(

The first 10 kilometres were still quite okie and most of the targets that me and eng soon wanted to over take were over taken smoothly, except for 2 cute ACJC runners. The next few km was abit worse.. Was lagging behind es most of the time but still managed to force myself to keep up with him. And thanks to the 8 farts he let out during the run, i was determined not to fall behind him and get hitted by his bombs.. The last part was pure mental. Fired by the determination to keep as close as es and also catch up with the 2 ACJC girls, my legs and mind sudddenly feel energized again. But shucks.. i still din managed to catch up with the 2 girls.. =(

It was onli when i reached home that i realised an army captain had died during the run.. wah piangz.. how come it is always guys de arh and so near my age grp some more.. Sianz.. Anyway, the run was good.. Really thanks my mum for waking up at 3.30am to boil egg for me and es's dad who drove us to city hall during this ulu hr..

Hopefully 50 yrs down the road, i m still strong enuf to do all these stuffs haah.. The veterans runners really motivate me to run.. Some are alr 50+ yrs old but they still can let the NSFs to eat their dust.. oh yah, and special thanks to my legs too.. For not giving up when i tot they shld be giving up hahaha..

Met brandon, yew kiong and andrew for badminton at PUB recreational club today. Thanks to the weekly coaching and matches with my JTC colleagues, I finally can pose some threat to the 3 of them liao hahaha.. Really had alot of fun and come to think of it, it is almost 1 and a 1/2 yrs since i last played with them in seletar camp. Time really flies man, that time brandon was still teaching me the basics of badminton haah..

Oh and forgot to mention that brandon's dad is the real pro man.. Me and yk played 2 v 1 against him and guess wats the score?? 15-1.. brandon's dad 15, me + yk 1.. =( haha.. i still got a long way to go in badminton man..

Enjoyed listening to yk and andr talking abt the things that happened in their hall's FOC.. It juz seemed so happening there.. Mayb i shld join hall some day.. =)

Haha! I m back sia.. been slping quite late for the past few days sia.. my eye bag is getting damn big liao man haha.. Aiyah shucks man.. Brought along the suntan lotion, sunglasses and aloe vera gel but there is no sun to tan me up sia.. It is the 1st time i din get sun burnt after going to the swimming pool and beach in the late mornings..

The camp was quite fun and I had a great time with all the juniors and seniors. Nearly fell sick on the 2nd day of camp coz i slpt directly under the ceiling fan on the previous nite.. Luckily i managed to activate the immune system in time coz i was determined not to miss out anything in the UOC.. Time to grab back all the sleep i have lost in the camp man.. tata.. =)

Yesterday shucks.. Thanks to some f**kers who are ganging up to force my dad to resign, my dad has been not eating and slping well for almost a wk le.. And now its my mum' s turn.. she din eat lunch yest and onli ate half a packet of rice last nite.. I was damn worried that both of them might fall into depression.. Luckily, my relatives kept calling over to talk to them and now they seems okie le.. alot better than yesterday altho my dad is still thinking of resigning.. =(

Sis is finally back frm her 5 days choir trip to Pattaya. Her AJ choir got a gold award in the competition.. =) Bought a mini adidas soccer ball for me also hahaha.. Hmm.. So many things have happened even tho she just went for 5 days.. Was hoping that there is someone I can talk to for the past few days.. =(

Been trying to keep myself happy despite all these stuffs coz i noe that life is short. And i want it to be filled with more good memories then bad memories.. Just feel so lucky that i have so many funny and lame friends to help me keep the smile on the face..

Went to Vivocity with Yong Kwang and Sheng Yuan today coz yk wants to shop for new clothes.. As usual only yk bought something(his 9th G2000 shirt) while me and sy began our sight seeing of clothes and talk cock session.. Saw a cool shirt @ River Island but the price tag looks cool too.. Shucks man.. its costs $105.. Can some one pls help me buy away that shirt b4 my payday comes! Die liao lah.. Spent too much this mth le.. Spent 140 bucks to treat my parents to a crab feast in amk on sat.. then spent another 30bucks on dinner today.. Haiz.. How come i m not 1 of the 44 pple who struck ToTo on friday?? =( hahaha... The food we ate @ The Mussels Guys in Vivo.. The mussels are definitely worth the try.. But the fish and chips shucks man(even tho it is labelled as all time fav).. sy says the fish ate too much mud le, therefore got the stupid "mud" taste.. Haah but I turned it into pepperfish anyway, by adding alot of pepper to mask away the smell.. =) oh yah.. Kinda irony man, b4 we got the rat, all of us were hoping that the rat will be caught soon so that our food are safe.. However, when we saw the poor little thing inside the cage, we were like hoping that it had nvr walk inside to the trap.. The rat was cute.. When i looked at it, it gave me the puss-in-boot's ke lian look, which made me feel like adopting it as my office pet.. Oh man.. all the while i tot i got into the slackest dept compared to my friends, until i found 4 piles of time bombs lying near my desk.. they contained docs which dated all the way back to nov last yr.. when i told my boss's assistant, she lead me to another unused desk in the office and there contained alot of 2004 and 2005 docs which should have been done yrs ago.. She din want to touch them coz they were left by the previous perm stuffs, and she will onli do them when she has finished her own stuffs (which seems kinda impossible). Aiyah, since boss been nice to me, i shall limit myself to 1 spider solitare game per day and help him clear all these.. Dun want him to to swallow the atomic bomb if the top pple finds out..

Got my exams result back today... Aiyah shucks.. was aiming a GPA of 4.31 in order to pull my overall gpa back to 4.0, but i din manage to do it this time.. onli managed to pull it up to 3.9 sianz.. Arh tot the stupid FM was damn easy, hmm.. but how come i get B onli!! was damn slack in the 1st sem, was abit slack in sem 2.. oh man, think i yr 2 muz start to buck up le!
